Feels like most people gave Cerrone a better shot against Conor after 2 (T)KO losses within 6 months than Dustin which is just insane lol

Conor is a bad stylistic matchup on paper, sure but so is Dustin potentially after the 7.5 minute mark.
Conor:

- most dangerous guy in the first 7.5 minutes with Ngannou + amazing chin

- fights at a range Dustin doesn’t like which can open big counters when he moves forward (especially when he is shifting)

- Dustin got better at it but is still not comfortable on the backfoot
Dustin:

- also a hard hitter and most importantly a combination puncher who finds ways to win in the pocket where Conor doesn’t want to be

- big check right hook to counter straights

- great cardio

- his hillbilly guard could work well here against Conor‘s straight punches
All the "Conor is actually in amazing shape this time“ meme talk aside, Dustin was way more active especially at LIGHTWEIGHT. This is positive and negative since Dustin had also way more fights and wars than Conor.
Despite the Eddie Alvarez and Khabib fights, we really don’t know too much about Conor at 155. He is not the kicking ultra aggressive 145 Conor anymore. That’s for sure.

He is still precise and hard hitting but I don’t believe that he is the same one punch man at 155.
If Dustin starts composed with a good game plan without overcommitting early on, I actually favor him over 25 minutes.

Hope he utilizes the clinch, dirty boxing, combos with kicks when Conor retreats and feints his way in using his double jab. JUST DON‘T BRAWL EARLY ON PLEASE!
Mainly I just want to see more than a round though to see how Conor handles the later pace and infighting of Poirier.

That being said, let’s go 💎. Turn Dana red.
