Ask your average Right Winger what Freedom means to them, they will typically mention soldiers dying to protect those freedoms, or that the government wants to take those freedoms, or that the founding fathers built this country on freedom for them.

Look at Right-Wingers in fandom spaces, their primary concerns are being “censored” from talking freely about anyone, regardless of how offensive that commentary might be.
They do not seek to reason, or understand others because questioning them is infringing on those freedoms.

If American Freedom is the Freedom to do as much harm as you can without it being regarded as such, then it’s not worth defending.

Freedom for some of us means being free of violence. Being free of oppression.
And violence and oppression here typically come from people who enjoy the freedom to do as they please without society condemning them and restricting their access and privileges.

White People in America fear being treated the same way they’ve treated others, which is why they refuse to share their beloved freedoms with non-White people. Because then it’s no longer special.

Because a societal norm built on racist values doesn’t need you to understand that it’s racist, if your race is the one that benefits from that structure and engineering.

What a lot of White people don’t realize is that this same ideology is leveled against them as well for being poor, uneducated, “uncivilized “, hell there was a time when being White was reserved for specific kinds of European descent, and others were victims of those White folk.
Whiteness is inherently violent, it is inherently careless, it is purposefully ignorant in some places and viciously designed in others.

Conversely, when a White person without a badge or a uniform kills someone, they’re treated as a lone wolf, a troubled soul, a person suffering from mental illness that was usually a “good” person.

Lemme remove murder from it. When a White person attacks someone, physically or verbally, there is always a question of who or what provoked the attack. There’s an effort to blame the person being attacked.

When we say White People are racist by default, we are talking about the ways White people are conditioned to see non-White people, and the structures in place that reinforces those values.

Truth is we just want y’all to be aware of the harm you do so you can stop it. That’s it.

We can’t be racist to you all. We don’t have the means to be. We can be prejudiced, we can be exclusionary towards you.
