The greatest American lie is that people from every other country wish they lived here. They don’t.

The same people tend to be in the “why would I ever want to go anywhere else?” camp, so they’re sheltering themselves from ever interacting with people in other countries who could tell them this.

I’ve gotten enough “I know people who want to come here” responses to take a moment to clarify; I know many people want to move to the US. My point is that we’re not the envy of everyone, everywhere, like many tend to believe.
