Today, I'm sharing my personal take on @naval's classic "How To Get Rich (without getting lucky)" thread.

I'm 23, with limited knowledge, so I'll only speak on 10 of the tweets in which I have direct experience in.

See pinned profile tweet for context.

Spending to look rich costs your freedom.

Investing to become wealthy costs your excuses.

Either way, you will pay a price.

The dichotomy is in the dividend.

Short term pleasure vs. long term happiness.
Example:

I worked in the trades for multiple years.

I've seen many men buy brand new $100,000 + trucks but have $0 portfolios.

Their truck now owns them. Consuming money for gas, high priced insurance, and maintenance.

They are a slave to a depreciating asset.
Growing up, society programs us to believe wealth is bad.

- Finance being taboo
- The evil billionaire in movies
- Media displaying the faults of the wealthy but neglecting to show their philanthropy

We're always being programmed.

Be mindful of what is programming you.
Examples of ethical wealth creation:

- Henry Kaiser
- Henry Ford
- Tim Ferriss
- Elon Musk
- Naval

All provided services or products that gave value to the world while making it a better place.
People will publicly hate on wealth as an excuse not to put in the work to attain it.

You don't have to look far on Twitter to find this.

This mindset spreads like a virus.

Social distance yourself from these people.

They're playing a negative-sum game.
If your input is matching your output then there's massive inefficiency.

There's a term called Mechanical Advantage:

A measure of the force amplification achieved by using a tool, device, or system.

(ie. levers & pulleys)

You want to find the monetary equivalent to this.
Example:

Like tools, investing isn't all that sexy.

But it sure as hell provides leverage.

Investing consistently in crypto brought my net worth to 6 figures at the age of 22.

Stocks, owning a business, crypto, and real estate can all act as mechanical advantage for wealth.
Who you know > what you know

Skills can be learned.

Finding reliable character is hard.

For that reason, people will often show a preference for people with social proof.

With zero experience, I've gotten jobs over experienced people simply because of my connections.
It's not hard to stand out in today's world.

Integrity
Work ethic
Punctuality
Humbleness
Positive attitude
Willingness to fail

Similar people will naturally be drawn to you.

This will open up countless opportunities.
I've learned more in 2 months on Twitter than I did 2 years at college.

Majority of college is indoctrination through the guise of education.

There are thousands of wealthy individuals on Twitter/Youtube teaching you applicable skills, often times for free.

Utilize it.
A few in demand online skills to generate wealth:

- SEO
- Coding
- Marketing
- Storytelling
- Copywriting
- Web Design
- eCommerce
- Entertainment

Just like money and schooling, jobs are increasingly going digital.
My best friend is my business partner.

This makes our work seem like play.

We both have skills in different areas while having aligned values.

This creates an unmatched synergy that scales easy and is hard to replicate.
How many anon wisdom money gurus do you see on Twitter?

Thousands.

Just look under Naval's comment section.

There's only

1 Zuby
1 Dan Go
1 Dan Koe
1 Ed Latimore
1 David Mendes

They built something that can't be replicated.

Authentic personality.
If you're generic, then you're going to attract generic people.

You may be liked by most but you'll be loved by none.

Combine an authentic personality that provides something of value and you have a recipe for success.
Networking is one of the most powerful forms of leverage.

I know expert copywriters, audience builders, eCommerce operators, web designers, etc.

If I have a question, instead of using my limited knowledge in an area, I access people with expertise.
Equivalent to reading about working out and expecting to get fit.

Learn from people that have skin in the game.

You'll learn more about business from your local drug dealer than your local professor.
