might have to start a WandaVision set appreciation thread because I’ve never been more jealous of an art department in my LIFE
I’m doing it. I just finished some writing and as a reward I am rewatching these episodes and taking pictures of all the furniture I want
2 seconds in and I had to pause for kitchen appreciation. Not my style but was wowed by the perfect capture! Dishes on display, eye level oven, that table, those chairs, gotta love an island with a stove, and pre “open concept” to hide food prep (AND sitcom shenanigans)!
Okay this is when I audibly GASPED. She walked into this gorg living/dining room and I felt the presence of the Dick Van Dyke Show! “They did it, these TV nerds really did it...” I thought as a tear sprung to my eye. “Also, I wonder how much wood paneling my wall would cost...”
Here are some side by sides with Dick Van Dyke Show! The ‘open concept’ does apply to the dining area, perfect for hosting dinner then transitioning to drinks in the living room. Multiple seatings areas are good for entertaining AND lots of staging options!
One more side by side: a nice clear space in the middle for gags! Dick Van Dyke show had lots of singing, dancing, and him tripping over the ottoman. This is also where Wanda “faints.” (Other great duplications: textured walls, French shutter and curtain combo, curved sectional!)
Side note: obviously I do have a sunburst clock already but I have been looking for those pendant lamps lol. Look, they’re kinda ugly.... but SO give the authentic mcm vibe instead of that West Elm catalog feel
We see a bedroom for the first time and are off to the races with a riff on the Hayes Code, a series of ‘decency’ rules stating you could not show married couples in the same bed. As they scooch the beds together I imagine they are saying 60s here we come!
(This bedroom also has a very popular and era appropriate layout! Baaaarely off-screen are the hint of a fireplace at the foot of the bed and an attached master bath. I’d also like to give a shout out to the set dresser who placed these horrendous ceramic doves, they are perfect)
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new couch and I DO NOT LIKE IT!” This house is way more ornate, lots of patterns and new wallpaper, not my favorite but I’ll hang. Kept the classic sitcom layout of keeping the TV where the camera is so that everything is cheated and open though
The kitchen is smaller, there are swinging doors and accordion style dividers everywhere. Glass fruit bowls and vases, more swirlies and curlies and less geometric shapes. Out the window you get more depth though to see outside! And I like the curtains! (Bewitched side by sides)
I’ll be honest I think Wanda’s new house is ugly and I’d much rather live in Dottie’s yard where she is clearly living her best Palm Springs life
Super relieved to be exiting this unappealing design decade but I do appreciate that the Bewitched homage was perfect for this episode as a show that existed in both black & white and color
Episode 3, heading into that Brady Bunch / Three’s Company era. Not my favorite shows (like how Dick Van Dyke is) but OMG THE FURNITURE IN THIS HOUSE
Already the credenza has stolen the show. I tried to get a mid century modern credenza exactly like this but THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. @Hectorisfunny can ya boy @El_Santotaco give me all the credenza facts please? Is this the piece you were talking about?
I. Love. This. House.
Look at those clean open stairs! So much better than the last episode’s stairs. I literally texted my mom pictures of the handrails on the stairs and split-level this morning because I want them

The LATTICE WORK ON THOSE WOOD PANEL ROOM DIVIDERS! These are the things I’m thinking about while watching the show, it is perfectly normal, they are beautiful
I got interrupted by dinner so in the meantime here are the facts about the beautiful console at the entryway! Thank you @El_Santotaco! https://twitter.com/el_santotaco/status/1353176432264978432
