1) Many local leaders tout this as a win. While yes, amazing that so many people registered for vaccine hope they look deeper into the disparity of Dallas rollout. Notice this isn't a Whole Foods up north. Where is equitable distribution? Access? Latinos account for 41% of pop, https://twitter.com/LoriBrownFox4/status/1352709075830796289
2) but 43% of COVID-deaths and 55% of COVID-hospitalizations. I've seen posts of Fair Park not meeting demand and opening up appointments to whoever shows up. This isn't being communicated to the communities that need to hear it most.
3) I've seen posts of Highland Park families finally coming down south to take their elderly family members to get vaccinated. I want EVERYONE to get vaccinated and it's infuriating that our hard hit communities are being left behind, standing in long lines just to register.
4) There are many barriers that aren't being addressed and Covid has exposed so many gaps. I know this is a deeper issue and I hope that local leaders see there is interest in the vaccine and that there's a sense of urgency to get more communities of color vaccinated.
