common argument 'well he did something that he believed in' is no different than the argument socialist feminism argues when they argue for the wage gap. they thought they were the most valuable workers, but the salaries tell a different story

Regular joe blow? Sure. This guy positioned himself as an advisor to men out there. Most guys both say 'never trust a fat fitness coach' yet think this has no bearing on living life well.

After all the bitching men have done over participation trophies making people weak, I shouldn't have to elaborate on why I have a problem with someone getting the praise for doing something stupid and then predictably failing.
