As I was saying well before the election, the biggest gift that Trump brought is revealing to almost everyone that what we were calling "normal" is NOT GOOD, and where it was mostly invisible before, a lot more people will be able to see it now.
A four-year disruption to "normal" is a long enough disruption to start to see just how not good "normal" was. Once you realize this is a profound perspective on the issue, the way Trump was treated starts making a lot more sense in a completely different way.
