If you are someone who return home late or pass by ratnapark area after sunset, you'll surely know Trans always tend to harass people walking in the street. I've been there once and I've run away. Few of my friends have been there too.
Now the interesting thing is the "woke" people defending the trans who got beaten by the police not knowing the other side of the story. What will you do to someone who comes touching your penises/ Breasts and slapping your butts when you're walking and minding your own business?
The obvious answer is to cry for help and the instant solution is to beat them and keep them busy until police arrive. Well men walking on the thamel/ratnapark/sundhara line at night regularly get harassed by these trans people. And this is a problem that needs to be addressed.
Was the brutal beating by police wrong? YES. After all they're human too and you're innocent until proven guilty. But the police side of the story says that 13 of them were harassing a pedestrian and even tried throwing stones and slurs when police tried controlling the situation
Now their side of story says they were returning home from work. And were beaten by the police. Bearing in mind prostitution is still illegal in Nepal and punishable by law, the work those people were involved in was illegal as well.
Whats illegal is illegal. So nothing you can really do to defend them except for the fact that it was inhumane from the police side. But this was a longtime coming considering the fact that several men have been facing regular harassment.
Imagine someone flashes you their penis and all the woke people on the internet defend them. People need to realize being trans doesnt make their crimes any smaller and is by no means an excuse for their mistakes. They need to stop having double standards. Its getting ridiculous.
