World-wide consumption of oil has been climbing steadily since the 1970s. It is now at 100,000,000 barrels per day. That's not a typo. Per day. Not week, not month, but 100 million barrels per day. 2/
We've had 2 brief pauses of growth in the last generation. One was in 2008 during the big economic crisis, and this one because of COVID19. As long as the world's population is increasing we will see higher demands for all fossil fuels. 3/
