The city, Vitoria, that Alavés are from has turned blue and white #100AñosGloriosos
They've made a Himno del Centenario 🎶

Composed and performed by Mikel Izal

There is a Basque version – Gora burua

And a Spanish version - Alta la frente

For tonights match against Real Madrid there won't be an electrical scoreboard at work at Mendizorrotza, instead for one night only the legendary marcador de Donato will make a comeback.

#100AñosGloriosos
Donato Díaz Villaluenga was known as the scoreboard man at Mendizorrotza taking over the job from his father in the 1945-46 season. For half a century he would, no matter weather and from Regionals to Primera Division, change the numbers on the scoreboard during Alavés matches.
This footage is from when Donato made his last match, technology evolving, Alavés making it to Primera Division and a new stadium meant he was no longer needed by the scoreboard. He retired at the age of 82.

But Donato and his dedication is never forgotten by the club, his face and scoreboard is painted on the stadium. And tonight his scoreboard "house" will be used again for one match before it goes on a little tour through various towns in Alava for fans to see it up close
90-year-old Javier Berasaluce will tonight take the honorary kick off before Deportivo Alavés - Real Madrid.

He started his professional career with Alavés at 20 and helped them reach Primera Division in 1954, before he signed with Real Madrid.
"Alavés is the club of my life, I had the best time of my career here"

"I didn't expect I would still be around to celebrate this, 100 is a lot, and I am 90. I was very happy in Vitoria, I still am"
