So I had the Astra Zeneca vaccine the other day and I think it’s important to discuss the importance of taking the vaccine and side effects etc below

I think it’s very important to mention that side effects are NORMAL. It shows our body is fighting the virus. On the day I got the vaccine, I didn’t have any side effects but on the second day I did feel really ill. Especially at night. But that’s it.

I was nervous about taking the vaccine because I, admittedly, fell into the ‘conspiracy culture’ surrounding it. I’m so glad to have friends like @pragmaticpharma who calmed my nerves and who engaged in logical and educated conversations with me.

So NO you won’t grow another arm. You (most likely) won’t get any serious side effects at all. Your doctor will ask you relevant questions to ensure this. Please stop engaging with dumb TikToks and conspiracy threads. Save you and others from a very real and very dangerous virus.

There’s thousands of people who have died because this opportunity wasn’t here before. We pay thousands to study degrees which tackle these things. Don’t undermine the hard work PUBLIC HEALTH workers and SCIENTISTS have put into this because TikTok told you to.

If you’re hesitant because of the quick turnover (I was too) then try talking to someone who is in the field.

Also, we’re in a pandemic. That’s why the PAPERWORK (which is one of the reasons vaccines can take years) was PROCESSED quickly. That’s all.

I should touch on the side effects more . So 7 of us got the vaccine. 4 were, and have been, perfectly fine ever since. Myself and two others faced these side effects (lasting 1-2 days):
- chills
- headache
- joint pain
- decreased appetite
- (only one of us had) nausea

The 2 days of, and I put it VERY LOOSELY, “pain” are worth it if it means we’re at a higher chance of being Covid free in the future. The pros outweigh the cons by a landslide. Also severe reactions occur relatively straight after the vaccine which الحمدلله no one faced.
