The Danish PM is the leader of the Danish social-democrats i.e the centre-left party in Denmark. https://twitter.com/MailOnline/status/1352809558691950592
Correlation/causation etc but its noticeable that the decline of the Danish centre-left hasn't been as precipitous as the majority of the other equivalent parties in the rest of Western Europe. To what extent is this related to their hawkishness on these kinds issues? I dunno
So, is it probable that Danish centre-left hawkishness re issues like immigration & integration has helped it to prevent a repeat of the precipitous decline seen elsewhere amongst centre-left parties in Western Europe? Seems very likely to me. https://twitter.com/amjeannet/status/1216998025018535938?s=20
Lib-left clerisy & political class over here will perform all kinds of mental gymnastics to avoid accepting this conclusion which is staring us all in the face as they find it politically & morally unacceptable. More fool them.
One thing that needs to be remembered about the Danes is that theyve always taken integration very seriously & that this can be inclusionary as well as exclusionary. For instance,
Jews fared a lot a better during WW2 than most Jews in Europe at the time https://www.history.com/news/wwii-danish-jews-survival-holocaust

Why was that? I think its fair to say that this was, to some extent, because Danish Jews were seen, first & foremost, as fellow Danes.
Thats one example of how taking integration seriously can be inclusionary, not simply exclusionary, as it is sometimes portrayed to be.
The Danes realise that integration is am important component re maintaining high levels of social trust & that the maintenance of high levels of social trust is an essential prerequisite for high levels of public support for a generous welfare state
https://ps.au.dk/en/current/allnews/news/artikel/trust-may-explain-the-good-state-of-danish-economy-and-the-countrys-successful-welfare-society/
https://ps.au.dk/en/current/allnews/news/artikel/trust-may-explain-the-good-state-of-danish-economy-and-the-countrys-successful-welfare-society/
& that these elements - high levels of social trust & cohesion & integration & generous welfare - taken together, form part of the backdrop to why Denmark is consistently one of the happiest countries in the world https://www.thelocal.dk/20200305/worlds-second-happiest-country-denmark-to-open-museum-about-happiness
So who are we, as non-Danes, to say that what the Danes are doing is wrong? The Danes are likely to counter that the way they do things works for them.
& no one can accuse the Danes of not doing their research, they do their research.
Take this piece of research from the University of Copenhagen for example which looks at whether (what I would describe as) immigration-maximalism/diversity-accelerationism has the potential to reduce levels of social trust in a society

https://static-curis.ku.dk/portal/files/241414938/Dinesen_Schaeffer_S_nderskov_ARPS_20.pdf
See this 15min YouTube video from one of the authors (admittedly a German but working in a
Uni) who clarifies that it isnt diversity per se that is the problem exactly but the way diversity is managed i.e if sub-segregation is allowed to grow unchecked

See more from the author about this research here

So the Danes do their research & actually think what they are doing rather than considering these types of issues to be too taboo to talk about, which ultimately doesn't actually help anyone
Research about the welfare magnet hypothesis? The Danes again https://www.aeaweb.org/research/charts/welfare-magnet-hypothesis-denmark
Whats better: trying to sweep all the probs that can accrue from policies related to (what I would describe as) immigration-maximalism & diversity-accelerationism under the carpet or bringing all these issues out into the open? You can guess what I think https://link.medium.com/V7j4qX3Shdb
So whilst I do think that the Danes are prob too hawkish at times when it comes to these types of issues I respect the fact that they do their research & bring these issues out into the open for discussion & debate rather than trying to construct social taboos around them.
In the UK there is no way that our centre-left would have anything to do with this type of research or debate. If immigration-maximalism & diversity-accelerationism causes any kind of problems then the attitude is: this mean ppl are racist & we don't appease racists.
Our centre-left sardonically sneer “legitimate concerns” out of the corner of their mouths & label anyone willing to discuss this type of stuff as either prejudiced or pandering to ppl who are & then the British centre-left wonder why they keep on losing referendums & elections
& the American centre-left are no better. Joe Biden looks likely to go full immigration maximalist irrespective of what impact this may have on public support for redistributive policies https://twitter.com/epkaufm/status/1044495087709945856?s=20
