I also have to address this (next tweet): "After tracking individual proteins within cells, (they) determined the molecules diffuse just as fast through the compartments as through the rest of the nucleus. In a true condensate, molecular crowding should have hindered diffusion"🤔
Those of us playing with #CryoET can confirm that this is likely NOT TRUE!! It's just as crowded outside the condensate as inside. The condensate is just more enriched in select molecular species. But the overall crowding looks about the same, so why would diffusion be hindered?
