You know what, let's watch some Bulls/Hornets.
No question LaVine is taking a step. It's not just scoring, there's a patience and ability to read defenses that has grown too. Has the option to come off Gafford but Graham is giving him middle drive. Sees Biyombo at the nail, sees he doesn't commit and drives for the score.
LaVine gets a post up here with Graham on him. Bridges comes to take him, stays patience. Sees LaMelo showing help at the elbow off Williams and fires it to him. Like the way that Williams attacks the ball on passes.
Hornets in zone here, Bulls go with a double drag. As soon as Graham switches on to him he hits Thad rolling. That little play helps create the open look for White from 3.
LaVine comes off the screen from Markkanen and this is an automatic. As soon as Washington shows he's already throwing the pass to Markkanen popping.
I like what the Hornets are trying to do defensively but I'd like it more if their base was a *little* more solid.
As soon as I hit send of course the Hornets run a 1-2-2 (i think) press after a free throw, force a steal and score.
I will say this...Gordon Hayward hasn't looked this aggressive in a minute.
The pass wasn't perfect from LaVine but the mindset is right. P&R, Bridges is already showing help at the nail for when LaVine comes off. Great cut by Porter who is behind Bridges, good deflection but it ends up in a 3 for the Bulls.
This is tough from LaVine. Hesitates and attacks to engage Biyombo who stays in front. Rozier recovers and watch as soon as Biyombo clears, LaVine goes with another hesitate+go to get in the lane and finish.
Changing speeds is important for young guards and wings. The turbo button is great but learning when and how to use it is even tougher.
Like the design from the Hornets here. Loop Hayward over the top, hit him on the wing. Looks like Biyombo is going to go into a P&R or Hayward is going to turn the corner. Instead it's a screen for Rozier to get a 3.
Doesn't always work but I am a *sucker* for multiple efforts and rotations defensively. Hornets flying around on this one. Not a perfect possession but you see the effort once the Bulls get to drive and kick.
On the low Markkanen is back on the right track. It’s the mix of inside and out for me. He can stretch but he’s at his best when he’s doing a little bit of everything.
One thing with zones in the NBA, if you’re not matched up problems are around the corner. Rozier/Washington both have Thad, no one has Porter. Great cut by Porter and now Charlotte’s in rotation. Drive and kick, nice ball movement to an open 3.
