The Republican Party has spent my entire lifetime and longer leading to this. They've nurtured and tended and encouraged the lie of white supremacy to harness it to their own ends.

100% agree. The people the GOP harmed are people who chose self-harm specifically because they felt others would be harmed worse.

They're in a pit, demolishing any ladders lowered to them, for fear that others might climb out too.

I feel some level of basic human empathy for these MAGA Q people who have chosen to become permanently brain-fucked and lost, and I would see them live in a kinder world that respects even their human dignity and needs, but I save most of my sympathetic energy for their victims.

Every MAGA at some point knew basic moral right from basic moral wrong on some level, even if only a rudimentary grade school level.

And all of them made a choice for basic moral wrong, then sought (and found) an alternate reality that would let them live with that decision.
