Mitch McConnell wanted to delay the trial to mid February.
Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Schumer said Fcuk you & said she was gonna send the Articles Monday.
That forced McConnell to negotiate & now the Trial starts on February 8th.

Now, if there hadn’t been a delay, the Senate Trial would start this week & the GOPers were already saying there’s no way they can do the trial & confirm Joe Biden’s nominees & work on Covid relief while doing the Senate trial, so this two week delay neuters the GOPers argument.

Joe Biden needs his Cabinet confirmed so the government can function. These same folk would complain if the government doesn’t function. Joe Biden needs Congress to work on Covid relief to help us get out of this mess. These same folk would complain if the relief was delayed.
