I'm going to be comparing this case to the case against Guled Omar, a 22 yr old Somali youth who federal prosecutors called "irredeemable" and was sentenced to 35 years in prison for what the feds called a terrorist conspiracy. https://twitter.com/NC5PhilWilliams/status/1352783708202401797
And for additional context, the feds paid one of his friends with a whole lotta money and weed to entrap Guled and wiretap him. The feds made sure drugs were available knowing Guled had a history of drug addiction and being abused as a child.
U.S. Attorney Andrew Winter (who made a name for himself by putting a whole Somali community under surveillance with his notorious CVE program) said "You can't fix manipulative. You can't fix deceitful. And you can't fix Guled Omar." about a young man arrested when he was 20.
Nobody blinked an eye, cuz it happened under the Obama Administration. So in comparing these two cases, watch how white supremacy works in law enforcement, in the way the defendants are treated, the way crimes are prosecuted and in the way the public thinks and responds.
Eric Munchel, release before trial to his home, judge declaring Munchel not to be a risk to the public “It’s not clear what his motive was," Judge Frensley said. "It’s not clear what his intent was. The proof on these issues is inconsistent.”
