S*umf*ower is of course wrong but I’m uncomfortable with Nov*ra media weighing in.
So I didn’t know they were having a back and forth prior to this. I think we need to reflect on motivation for producing this article on that platform. The tone of the piece reads a bit like a goss mag sprinkled with explainers. It begins with “there’s trouble in influencer land”
What S*umf*ower is doing is reprehensible and her attacks and threats to people calling her BS out are disgusting! But this article is clearly a drive for engagement and was not handled with any sensitivity. There are brilliant critics who have already addressed this.
??????
Who is the audience for this? White lefties who misunderstand identity politics and are looking for an excuse to further scoff at it? And saying newly politicised white people are not politically active because of black and brown led organising???
And again, there’s nothing there that black critics haven’t already been saying. And one black woman utilising the politics of representation to scam white people is nothing new - it’s her utilisation of the language of reparations which is the most offensive part.
“The personal makes up the sum total of the political: there’s no such thing as social struggle. The influencers have invented intersectional Thatcherism.”

Again not a new phenomenon, they didn’t invent this. And wtf is this????!
And no mention of the person who made a ton of money peddling the idea that white guilt and reflecting on privilege is a substitute for activism.
I just thinking reflecting on whether you should make an entry into the discussion is a worthwhile endeavour. And if you want to do so, get someone better equipped.
And again I want to be clear, this is not a defence of S*umfl*wer’s actions at all! She is completely wrong and her attacks on her critics absolutely vile. She should be held to account and called out.
