Me: 140+ years after Tipu's death, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose incorporated Tipu's Mysore tiger into the flag of Azad Hind Fauj & the shoulder-strap insignia of INA (Indian National Army).

Even the flag of All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) has the Leaping Tiger of Tipu Sultan, along with a Hammer & sickle.

Netaji called his government in exile "Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind", with a cabinet consisting of a woman, and 30% Muslims.

The book 'The Mahatma and the Netaji: Two Men of Destiny ' was published in 1986.

The Chola Empire also had a Prancing or Leaping Tiger on their Flags and coins (reserve direction). The LTTE later adopted the emblem of the Chola tiger on its flag.

It depicts a tiger overpowering a British soldier. Keys make the tiger 'grunt' & the victim 'wail and move his hand helplessly'.

The above coin is the Seringapatam Medal, awarded by the Governor-General of India to all Indian soldiers who fought in the Battle of Seringapatam.

The British feared Tipu the most because he was the ally of the French (Napoleon) and was a modern technocrat in military affairs.
Like i said before, Tipu is a complex character but he was never a bigot. The Mughals and British never touched the underlying caste structure in India, but Tipu did it in Malabar.

Tipu's arrival led to the decline of the old feudal order in Malabar. 8/8
