I recently tweeted on a woman who developed severe liver injury due to chromium picolinate based vitamin supplements. Now things hav bcom strange on this issue, as the company making and marketing this product came to meet me today. The product Orovit is one of the highest utilised #multivitamin supplement by OBGyn #doctors in India even though no solid evidence. After my post, docs hav become more aware of this and hence stopped prescribing in many major hospitals in kerala. This is shared on @WhatsApp. 2
The company is now losing on their business. So two representatives came to my opd, I got called on phone by company MD, requested I do following.
1. Name all companies who market products with chromium picolinate
2. If not, remove my original post photo showing their product. 3

3. If this was not done, then their bread and butter wud B affectd and some reps on filed will lose jobs. So I wud help them keep their jobs if I removed my piece on #publichealth interest.

I had certain conditions
1. What about the money spent by the patient who suffered and had to pay for tests, admission, underwent invasive liver biopsy?

I hav to think about the patient, public health. The best the company can do is to modify their product, make it non toxic, I will support their newfound intelligence.
Emotionally or otherwise, trying to influence doctors is not a good move.
