But...when I read these “45 other states have played” articles, I feel like everyone is at least missing a nod or tip of the cap to our government leaders and decision makers who have prioritized our protection from the virus above all else. (2/4)
Of the those not playing sports (part of a larger statewide shutdown in most cases), 3 of them rank in the top 5 in preventing the virus from being spread (total cases per 100k). HI (2), OR (4) and WA (5).

Its easy to play armchair quarterback, but it should be just as easy to acknowledge both sides.

I’m beyond thankful for all those working tirelessly in the medical field this entire time, and my
breaks for those impacted personally by the virus.
I also
have seen/felt the mental health impacts facing our youth who are missing out.
