Here are what turned out to be Gary Thorne’s final words on MASN, at the end of a dreadful 2019 Orioles season:

“Enjoy the Experience. The game is supposed to be entertainment. ... Enjoy what goes on on the field, and then go home and live your life.”
Of course you can’t look back at Gary Thorne’s career with the Orioles without bringing up his call in an empty Camden Yards on that April day in 2015
And of course his feud with Gleyber Torres will never be forgotten 😂
My personal all-time favorite Gary Thorne call:

“Don’t throw it away, DON’T THROW IT ALL!”
Never has an announcer better captured the energy of the fans than Thorne did in Game 162.

“THEY DID IT! THEY DID IT! THEY DID IT!”

(He even said the ball went to right field instead of left and it doesn’t matter one damn bit)
Probably the last huge regular season moment that Gary Thorne called for a winning Orioles team.

“GOT IT OVER HIS HEAD!”
The 8th inning of Cal Statue Night. All 3 HR calls from Gary were great, but I’ll never forget what he said after the Mark Reynolds dinger:

“He is doing exactly what the Orioles have done all year as a team — causing everyone to go, ‘What?!?”
And then there’s Gary Thorne, as always, keeping things light, and having way too much fun with Trevor Plouffe’s name 😂
“FIRST INNING BABY! FIRST INNING!”
"HE CAUGHT IT! OHHHHH MERCY!"
"Oh boy, here we go, Manny Machado ... dohhhhhhh GOTCHA!"
“OHHH MERCY! Gonna see that one for a few years!”

And he was right.
The Nelson Cruz “WELCOME TO BALTIMORE!” call will always be a classic.

And it just felt like it set the scene for his incredible 2014 season.
Mid home run call: “Jonathan Schoop can I always play the Yankees?!?”

Schoop used to tear up the Yanks, and Gary knew just as well as the rest of us.
Another great one in a big moment:

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT WIETERS!”
Gary Thorne just yelling "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" for the entirety of this Chris Davis home run >>>>>
Thorne had some great moments in the 17-inning game in Boston, but none better than the relay to the plate in the 16th:

"WE ARE NOT DONE YET!"
Gary sure does love to watch people eat ice cream, and then tell us how much he wanted some ice cream 😂
And I finish with this one.

Maybe it was because of the moment, but this may be my favorite “GOODBYE HOME RUN!” call that Gary Thorne ever gave us.
