An update ... back in December, I shared a thread about how, in 1994, I had students reach out to Watergate participants and ask: What lessons should we learn?

Then last week, I shared again one letter in particular that spoke to what we've been seeing -- from Archibald Cox. https://twitter.com/kgrubaugh/status/1341277717975580672
Cox, a special prosecutor during Watergate, said this was the key: "...we should be reminded of the corrupt influence of great power, especially when the power is in the hands of someone who is willing to resort to any tactics, however wrong, to retain and increase his power."
So very relevant to what we've been seeing in these fraught times, right?

Someone I follow reached out privately and asked if I might want to sell some of the letters. Maybe, I said, but it didn't feel right to profit from a student project, even one from almost 30 years ago.
So how about if you write a check to the Student Press Law Center? @SPLC

Deal!

Historic letters went to a keen collector, and a nice check for the Student Press Law Center arrived at my house today. I'll add my own donation, and it goes in the mail tomorrow.

A win for all!
