The Philippines allowed China to help them build and operate their power grid. Now China is in full control, and can kill power to the entire country whenever they want. Imagine governing a country with that hanging over your head. No wonder Duterte suddenly went anti-U.S. https://twitter.com/SecretsBedard/status/1352732817474674689
Here's more on how China controls the Philippine power grid. China doesn't have to say a thing to get the Philippines to cooperate. It's unwritten, unspoken: "It's nice having electricity. I'd be a shame if you didn't support China 100%." https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/25/asia/philippines-china-power-grid-intl-hnk/index.html
And it's working. The Philippines is predominately using China's high-priced Sinovac vaccine even though its efficacy rate is terrible. There's a corruption scandal there right now for failing to procure Pfizer, which is cheaper and far more effective. https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/01/19/21/duque-on-covid-19-vaccine-purchase-trust-our-officials
It's no wonder the Philippines went from being one of our staunchest allies to suddenly allying with China. We were key partners, allies. Right up until China built their infrastructure. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-philippines-idUSKCN12K0AS
The power grid isn't the only thing China has magnanimously done for the Philippines. They've remodeled or built many of the international airports there. Now they're building more airports there, even if many in the Philippines are worried about it. https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Engineering-Construction/China-group-s-10bn-Philippines-airport-bid-sows-alarm
And it's all for a purpose. The Philippines used to be one of America's staunchest *and key strategic* allies in the region. Now China has them by the balls. And China wants the Philippines because it gives them far more control over the Pacific Theater. https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/politics/article/3107664/china-would-seize-philippines-war-us-former-military-chief
China is doing similar all over the world. Many countries are now indebted to China because they graciously "gave" them aid in the form of infrastructure—power, water, transportation, etc. So in exchange for China-built quality infrastructure, they are now beholden to China.
And China doesn't have to say a word of warning to get them to cooperate. It's simply a known quantity: go against China and lose your power, water, transportation, etc. Whatever it was China so graciously helped them with and maintains for them.
And they are trying to do that to the United States. Whether or not they succeed depends on whether we are led by someone who will stand up to them or who will accept their "friendship and aid" in exchange for favors like all those other countries have.
Good thing we have a president who is completely and totally free of any potentially harmful business ventures with China, right?
I mean, this stuff is all fake news, right? https://nypost.com/article/hunter-biden-china-timeline-business-ties/
That quid pro quo stuff is all a bunch of nonsense, right? I mean, Trump's is obviously real, but Biden wouldn't even think about a foreign country helping him win the presidency, right? https://nypost.com/2020/09/05/joe-biden-once-joked-about-china-helping-him-become-president/
China has obviously tried to interfere with our elections. Named, not CNN anonymous sources, but named ones have already stated that. Just how far did they go? Just how much did they interfere, and more crucially, how much did they succeed? https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2020/07/24/russia-china-iran-trying-to-interfere-in-us-election-counterintelligence-chief-warns/?sh=6f7f985e5572
Oh, and a recent update relevant to this thread: https://twitter.com/starsandstripes/status/1352862376559689729
And yet another recent update. Now that Biden is in office and there's no one to oppose them, China is becoming bolder. We'll see them seize the Spratly Islands within Biden's term in office, and we won't do anything about it. https://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/1353065222911614983
China is certainly emboldened by a Joe Biden presidency. So far, Biden's only action involving China was to rescind an order banning the CCP from involvement in our power grid. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/1/23/taiwan-reports-large-incursion-by-chinese-air-force
