please enjoy the latest tale of Canadian academia gone amok, this time at @UBC (same school that railroaded Steven Galloway on fake rape charges, then spent $5m of taxpayer money on a PR campaign to shovel dirt over the whole thing. But I digress). Anyway…
the background here is that the UBC Education dept requires students to take a course on indigenous issues—which, in this case, is taught by a prof so allegedly unpleasant that a dozen students quit & joined another section ...

How does the prof react?
by accusing them of possible white supremacy, racism, misogyny etc .... And here's the kicker: She pasted the same letter, verbatim, into the file of *every* one of the dozen students....

when this was discovered, it was too much for even UBC, and they trashed the letters. Naturally, the prof's response (also the student newspaper's focus, of course) is that this all just proves that more "systemic change" is needed to fight racism https://www.ubyssey.ca/news/indigenous-prof-calls-systemic-change/
it gets better
the prof, one Dr. Amie Wolf, now wants to be exempt from teaching evaluations (because they are incompatible with decolonialization, apparently)...oh & cash!...to compensate for her emotional labour
and an "employment guarantee"
because she's earned it, right?
