1/Sandy Munro is taking apart a 2021 Model 3 in a new video series. In his latest episode, he explores and details the changes between the 2018 Model 3, 2020 Model Y and 2021 Model 3 - with pictures.

I encourage everyone to watch this video as it illustrates how, to borrow a...
2/...term coined by Sandy, Tesla innovates and iterates at the "speed of thought." A good example of this is the manifold (branded super manifold...bc...why not). In 10 months, he observes 3 iterations of the item.

Tesla is constantly improving and iterating the product...
3/...making it less complex to build, and less expensive, while improving quality for the customer. In an example of the latter, take a look at improvements to the compressor shield (to reduce noise).

No other auto OEM companies iterates this fast or improves the product...
4/...in this iterative fashion throughout the year. Nvm differences between model years. The iteration is fast, furious and endless.

Tesla takes the same approach to literally everything it does. Constantly engineering and iterating to produce the best product at lowest cost.
5/ This way of working is part of Tesla's DNA. It's in the culture, the processes, the mindset, the very fabric of the company's being. And it has always been this way.

There is very little chance the slow, outsource-everything-to-1000-suppliers OEMs can ever...
6/...change their stripes to match Tesla in this way of operating. Which means, imo, they have no hope of ever catching up to Tesla.
