1. @Microsoft is one of the largest contributors to the members of Congress who tried to subvert the Democratic process
Microsoft has made NO COMMITMENTS to stop funding this group
At a company meeting on Thursday, Prez Brad Smith explained why.
And it's pretty appalling

2. In a transcript of the meeting leaked to CNBC, Smith said that @Microsoft needs to make contributions to politicians because sending these politicians money allows him to "pick up the phone" and get "help" https://www.cnbc.com/2021/01/22/microsoft-president-brad-smith-defends-mspac-to-employees.html?__source=androidappshare
3. Smith says @Microsoft is going to continuing to give lots of politicians money because this "help" -- which includes help on "tax issues" -- is "important"
Apparently more important than the integrity of the democratic process.

4. We've maintained a list of companies who have pledged to suspend donations to the 147 members of Congress who objected to the electoral college.
@Microsoft is not on that list.

5. As I first noted yesterday:

8. Publicly, Brad Smith likes to paint an image of himself as a socially conscious person.
But he's funding politicians that deny climate science and block government action because he wants to pick up the phone and get favors https://twitter.com/BradSmi/status/1352654753856065537

@Microsoft would like you to know that it mailed Hawley’s check a few days before Hawley received it.
It has not ruled out future contributions to Hawley. Nor has it asked for a refund, which is what @Hallmark did https://twitter.com/fxshaw/status/1352822287947288576
