Q:
Which Popper should I start with?

A:
Don’t read Popper, read Deutsch.

Start with The Fabric of Reality.
Then read The Beginning of Infinity.
Unless you don’t like STEM, or if BoI’s table of contents excites you more, in which case flip the order.

1/
If you must read Popper, try Conjectures & Refutations.

Open Society is fine if you’re into political philosophy.

Don’t read the Logic of Scientific Discovery.

(Unless you’re a positivist philosopher and really into logic. But then read the postscript.)

2/
World of Parmenides is nice if you’re into the Ancient Greeks.

Objective Knowledge clarifies his views but isn’t a great introduction.

I found the first chapter of Myth of the Framework too boring/tedious to have read it but it might have good essays later.

3/
Popper mostly writes in the context of popular philosophies of his day, for philosophers. He takes totally for granted familiarity with logic (his *biography* goes off on a massive tangent using hardcore logic in like the third chapter or something lol).

4/
Deutsch updated the Popperian framework, made various improvements, wrote clearly and at times beautifully, and is modern/current.

Philosophers and Deutsch fans should give Popper a go. Everyone else should skip him and read the most up-to-date version of these ideas.
