I am a GMC registered doctor. I've treated patients. I'm held to account for medical opinions I offer. Which is why I rarely do. It matters because public trust is essential.

It is my duty of candour as a doctor to inform you that @devisridhar is wrong...
...because she has repeatedly offered clinical opinions over matters she has neither specialist, general or indeed any scientific or clinical training....
....on matters pertaining to COVID19 strategy. She has stated that Scotland would have eradicated COVID19 if it were not for people travelling from England.

I invite her to present evidence to support this belief. I can find none.....
....notwithstanding, I would be greatful for confirmation there was no encourgement for the following paper, co-conceived by two members of Scotgov's advisory group

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7296206/....
....I am interested in,

"“What Scotland has shown is the effectiveness of clear messaging, local testing and tracing, and rapid, pre-emptive action, such as temporary closure of the hospitality sector in high transmission areas, in order to enable schools to stay open"

....
.....as would the reasoning behind,

"More locally, she has been vocal about Scotland's focus on aiming for no acceptable incidence and lowest levels of COVID-19, in contrast to the approach in England"....
.....I also find it odd that in your Nature article you say no country has supressed the virus without strict border control but list closure of borders as a disadvantage to attempts at elimination https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7296206/....
