This is a fiasco and I have some firsthand anecdotes I’ll share as a hot take on why we should change course now.... https://twitter.com/sfgate/status/1352698810028367872
Prioritizing seniors is great, buuut...
- they are not tech savvy and online signups are a fundamental barrier.
- they are wary of getting shots at stadiums and supermarkets, fear of a reaction and no care.
- unwillingness to travel far from their neighborhood

- and, yes, vaccine skepticism. This will affect a lot of groups, but senior health issues elevate the concern of a “new” drug.
- all of this compounded by their news diet, which is not awesome. Not all above concerns may be valid, but the perceptions are there.

So I’m no public health expert, but how long do we limit shots, which could go to teachers, dock workers, other front facing workers not currently in the mix, in favor a group we seem ill equipped to inoculate?
I am as empathetic and accommodating as anyone to state and local government... but I can tell you folks with a less generous view than my own are getting *pissed*... and my patience is running a bit thin. My business has been shuttered and my kid out of school for a year now.
