If the goal is to push the majority of people "in poverty" right over the line so they are no longer "in poverty," yes, it is really that simple.

If the goal is to make a society where there's no deep intergenerational poverty, the price tag is much higher. And we should pay it.
The 50% of children who will be scooped out of poverty* are from the group that dips in and out of poverty. The kids stuck in it will remain.

*It will actually be much less than 50%, they are just lying about this.
And all of this is missing the real issue, which is that regardless of which side of the FPL they're on, 40% of Americans would qualify as in or at risk of poverty using the EU's measure. It's not enough to get people in the US out of poverty when the measure is such a joke.
We're talking universal healthcare, free education, livable wages, etc. etc. you know all the things. Do not let a single centrist fuck think they're doing something with an enhanced CTC.
