Friday evening’s multiplayer 6mm ACW game set in 1863 using Volley & Bayonet. Lee with two strong corps under Longstreet & A.P. Hill, clashed with Fighting Joe Hooker’s four corps commanded by Warren, French, Howard & Sedgwick. The battle can only be described as ferocious. 1/3
Fighting was fierce along the front with heavy casualties on the centre & Rebel left. However the arrival of the divisions of Heth & Pender looked to unhinge the Union left. A series of dramatic Rebel attacks pressed the Union position. 2/3
However, Sedgwick’s VI Corps held, just! Across the field was unprecedented carnage, the bloody butcher’s bill unparalleled. A first class game involving seven players. Miniatures from my own collection & from the Heroics & Ros ranges. 3/3.
A few errors. The fighting was furious in the centre and Rebel right. The flanking movement was against the Union right.
