My opinion on Bernie has changed a lot over the years. Not his policies, but what I think of him as a person and as a leader (i.e., someone who can get the good things he wants done).

I tell you, nothing is making me like him more than all the bad faith criticisms swirling now.

I don't care how he felt on January 20th. Was he excited? Happy? Grumpy? I don't know. I don't have access to his emotional state. And I don't need it. He didn't make his feelings known. He didn't make them an issue. He kept them and himself to himself.

This is the very definition of a "Bitch Eating Crackers" situation. Guy shows up. He says nothing. He does nothing. He literally just sits there. He takes care of his own physical well-being.

If he had worn a colorful outfit and jumped in front of cameras and gushed then the same people saying he took away from a historic day by sitting there would be saying that he'd stolen attention by doing that.

79 year old man shows up for an event that is both his party's victory and one of national historic importance. He dresses appropriately for the weather. He acts appropriately for a pandemic. People are charmed, struck, and/or amused by his appearance and make it into a meme.

Look, I have seen what they say about Michelle Obama when she dresses up for an occasion so I'm going to say the issue isn't in fact how people do or don't dress.

Enjoy the memes or scroll past them. Both are reasonable responses and completely within your rights. Bernie didn't make them. He didn't ask people to make them. I don't pretend to know how he feels about them (nor am I asking). All he did was show up when he was supposed to.
