My Top 25 Favorite Songs Ever 😌(A Thread)
Music became a huge part of my life in the past couple of years, it's like a huge escape reality for me and it just makes me feel good. It can make me feel a lot of emotions, from lifting me up to balling my fucking eyes out.
It’s so interesting how you can listen to a song and it can take you back even if it was two months ago. This media has affected my life so much in many different ways, so in this thread, I'm going to go through some of my favorite songs đŸ˜Œ
25. Earthmover - Have A Nice Life
24. Potholderz - MF DOOM feat. Count Bass D
23. Shitsville - Freddie Gibbs & Madlib
22. Wyclef Jean - Young Thug
21. Blackstar - David Bowie
20. Inside Out - Bladee & Yung Lean
19. Something About Us - Daft Punk
18. Grimy Waifu - JPEGMAFIA
17. Other People - Beach House
16. Jigsaw Falling Into Place - Radiohead
15. Perfect Places - Lorde

The title of the song refers to the mentalities and experiences substances like drugs and alcohol can create, these being amazing at the moment but being destructive at the end. Lorde gave us one of the best closer tracks ever
14. Seigsfried - Frank Ocean

This shit so beautiful man... a song that moves from his love life to his inner life and then back out to his love life. This shit never fails to at least bring a tear upon my eyes, special track for me.
13. PRIDE. - Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick is at his most vulnerable point here, talking about his come up and the pride he's felt during those times. The way you can feel the pain in his voice is what makes me love this track as much as I do.
12. Codeine Crazy - Future

What can be said about this track that hasn't been said already, trap at its finest here. Future shows how emotional and deep he can get with his lyricism here, such a fucking banger bro..
11. Nightcrawler - Travis Scott feat. Chief Keef & Swae Lee

Goat trap song, Swae's infectious yet catchy vocals on this track, Trav's amazing autotune, and Sosa's verse man... peak fucking music đŸ˜©
10. Swimming - Kero Kero Bonito

Such a beautiful and cute song, literally therapy. Hearing her voice on this song feels like you are getting a big warm hug, so thankful for this one it has helped me through a lot.
9. Up My Sleeves - Death Grips

Sampling Bjork's vocals, this track is the definition of claustrophobia. Ride's lyrics are aggressive as per, but you can feel some type of weakness here.
Tackling topics from the death of a mother to a gloomy outlook on the afterlife. Definitely a top tier rap song in my eyes.
8.Untitled (How Does It Feel) - D’Angelo

A fucking neo-soul classic, heavenly vocals from D’Angelo. The influence from just this track alone is insane. So beautiful...
7. Ain’t It Funny - Danny Brown

One of the best rap songs ever, accompanied by an insane music video. Speaking on how fucked his drug addiction is and how is destroying everything around him.
6. Movies - Weyes Blood

A simple yet complex track where she talks about her love for movies and how her life feels like one. One of those songs that just makes me feel out of this world, so beautiful...
5. Milk - Sweet Trip

Another incredibly beautiful song that when it hits it hits, the “you will drift awayyy” always makes me tear up or even cry with every listen.
4. Perfect Circle / Godspeed - Mac Miller

It’s no secret Mac was an amazing and incredibly talented musician, on this double song we get a more focused Mac on his goals on the rap game and a sort of “warning” to the other rappers .
Now onto Godspeed, we get one of the most emotional and heartbreaking verses ever. With lyrics like “they don’t want me to OD and have to talk to my mother” that hit even more now that he is not with us... đŸ€
3. No Ordinary Love - Sade

Sade is truly one of the greatest musicians ever, and this track shows her incredible vocal ability and songwriting. Hearing her voice is so comforting man..
2. Xo/ The Host - The Weeknd

Another double track, in which we get a look into Abel’s darkest lyrics and intentions. The Host works as an interlude to the initiation this girl will face sooner or later, the coldest vocal performance i’ve ever heard..
1. Azucar - Earl Sweatshirt

Here it is, my favorite song ever. It’s fucking crazy how short this song is and how many topics Earl tackles here and how the song ends with “see the ghost of where i was lonesome i was” shows deep just one line can get.
Every-time I felt anxious, annoyed, or even just mad, I played azucar and all my problems went away. I’m so thankful for Earl’s music and how much it has helped me specially through last year. 💜
