Claims of American exceptionalism must include the fact that US is one of only a handful of countries that allows abortion past the point of viability. Indeed, we are not like other nations.

(As you know, different states have different regulations, but there is no federal limit on gestational age.)

For folks who are convinced that life begins at conception, this may not make a difference. For those w/ less certainty, it's significant.

I remember having this convo w/ secular European friends in early 2000s. They were horrified. And rightly so.
