Clearly woke means different things to different people, from "Pinkwashing Raytheon" to "Not hating gay people." But insofar as there is a set of values most people would identify with wokeness, it isn't a political force in the sense Republicans and the "post left" believe;
"woke" civil society organizations are, if anything, less able to advance their preferred candidates and or to get their agendas enacted than the "non-woke" Bernie left; Warren was a non-starter and the ACLU is clearly protesting the expansion of the security state in vain.
Although I have more values in common with the average woke influencer than with the average QAnon fanatic, the actual political function of wokeness is more similar to that of Q: It means "Our leaders really are advancing our interests, but also face nearly insurmountable odds–
–and anyone who says otherwise, or points out the contradiction, is a traitor."
A lot of these ideas have existed for fifty years, but they gained new prominence around the same time that "Obama is going to go Bullworth in his second term" ceased to be plausible. It's consent manufacturing–
–but not for the American public as a whole or even for all Democrats, just for a particular kind of Democratic loyalist. It's not representative of the priorities of the Democratic party or even of the way Democratic leaders talk on C-SPAN most of the time.
Succinctly, the idea that the Biden administration will be woke is as willfully naïve as the idea that Trump is a devout Christian. There will, however, be woke explanations for his most nakedly idiotic or amoral choices. But that's not why most people voted for him.
One last thing: Almost certainly a majority Biden voters are not woke even by GOP standards, but some number of people with woke values projected them onto Biden *after having said, earlier in the primary, that he was another old white man,* which is interesting in itself!
