"Illegal bad, more legal good"

The @GOP inaccurately claims to think that our government and taxpayers are able to keep up with the masses of people if they only happen to come in "legally". https://twitter.com/GOP/status/1352404310131355648
The GOP will constantly ramble about how illegal immigration is bad. Truth be told, they love undocumented workers. Why? Because they can exploit them and increase their profit margins because these workers have no choice. Look at Gov. Ricketts R-NE: https://twitter.com/therecount/status/1346525695879614467?s=20
Why is Gov. Ricketts (R-NE) allowing meatpacking factories to hire undocumented workers? Why isn't he prosecuting these businesses if he is so against illegal immigration?

Reality is that Ricketts et al. see undocumented workers as a benefit because it enriches his funders.
For the Businesses & establishment GOP/DNC alike, illegal immigration is beneficial for them so long as it’s, illegal. They reason that it’s good for the illegal migrants, US Govt. (no welfare for undocumented workers), & Americans (cheaper prices).

Milton Friedman:
Friedman was Reagan's economic adviser. One has to wonder why Reagan pursued amnesty when his own Nobel prize economics adviser stated that illegal immigration is good only if it's, illegal.

Friedman is right about one thing: you can't have both open-borders & a welfare state.
People on the Left argue that some undocumented workers pay taxes so should entitled to welfare programs. That's a fair argument. But they also argue for amnesty. Well, if they become citizens, they will lose their current jobs because they can't be exploited further.
If undocumented workers get a pathway to citizenship, what use are they to the businesses that employ them on the very basis that they are undocumented so they can't command fair wages? These amnestied workers then lose jobs & get on welfare as a result --> cost to US Govt.
Why do some illegal migrants pay taxes? Well, it's evidence to provide that they're not a cost burden in case there's a chance of a future amnesty. But paying taxes should not be a basis for receiving immigration benefit. It's an absurd policy suggestion.
If both political parties are serious about ending illegal immigration, then policy should entail going after the *incentives* that makes illegal immigration attractive to migrants:

- under the table jobs
- asylum loopholes
- birthright citizenship https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/going-after-the-employers-of-illegal-aliens/
