One of my biggest pet peeves is the phrase “toxic people”
People are not toxic. Certain behaviors that stem from allowing unhealthy thought patterns is toxic. We are more than our unhealthiness. We MUST take responsibility. When others enable it removes our responsibility.

Which is why boundaries are important.
By creating boundaries & holding yourself responsible for ONLY the things YOU’RE responsible for, it forces others to take responsibility for THEIR responsibilities. They will remain in toxic behavioral patterns if you “fix” their problems.

If you enforce these boundaries, they will be faced with having to begin taking responsibility for their actions or they will seek out others who will enable their behavior.
That’s on them ... but don’t let it be you. Don’t be the one responsible for enabling unhealthy behavior.
