I've been thinking about this on my walk today and decided to make a thread on my thoughts.

There will be spoilers for Sangoku Soketsuden if you aren't caught up on the manga or anime.

To start with, the Yellow Zombie Virus was renamed Etiolation Trinity.

In episode 7 of the anime, Zhang Jue calls the YZV the "etiolation virus". It might be a coincidence, but I think this might have a connection to what we know so far about the world of this series.

What is etiolation, anyway?
From Wikipedia: Etiolation /iːtiəˈleɪʃən/ is a process in flowering plants grown in partial or complete absence of light. It is characterized by long, weak stems; smaller leaves due to longer internodes; and a pale yellow color (chlorosis).
What we know from Soshoki 12 is that the YZV was created by accident while researching a Trinity alternative. Perhaps this renaming gives away the true nature of how the YZV was exactly created? Why would they give away such a massive plot twist? I'm not entirely sure...

If the YZV was created from etiolated Trinity, that could be used to explain how it could come about from such research.

Now that I think about it, could this also be seen as an allegory for nuclear power?

I made the same allusion to Photon Batteries in G Reco as well...
Photon Batteries power the G-Self and all of civilization in G Reco. If misused, it can easily destroy civilization.

If we go with this theory, we can say the same thing for Trinity. It powers all of civilization, but if mishandled can destroy it. Just like nuclear power.

I still stand by my theory that Yuan Shao is Patient Zero for the YZV. From what we know about Sima Yi, I assume he could have coaxed him into becoming a test subject.

By this logic, Zhange Jue is a natural host for it.
