Let's be crystal clear here: McConnell wants the filibuster so he can block any meaningful legislation, full stop. He does not want to "compromise" or "work together". As I said earlier, McConnell is trying to steal the election, just as surely as Trump was, and make himself the "real" head of the Senate. Deny this to him by killing the filibuster. Sooner rather than later, because people are hurting.

That said, I resist simplistic narratives accusing "the Democrats" of being wimps about this. Many, probably most of them want to kill the filibuster. It's just a handful who are being weenies.

Republicans aren't going to help Democrats pass bills to help people. That's because Republicans know they win elections if government is ineffective and unhelpful.

Manchin is being an idiot if he's protecting the filibuster. If the filibuster is removed, he becomes the most powerful man in the Senate. If it remains, then that title continues to be held by McConnell.
