Ralf Rangnick - Serious candidate if Lampard is sacked?

[THREAD]
Rangnick is arguably one of the most influential people in German football. In 1998, he advocated heavily for pressing which is today, is huge. Ralf regarded as a ‘football professor’ & many coaches have followed & been influenced his tactics (I.e Naglesmann, Rose, Marsch, Klopp)
His style of play was advocated almost two decades ago & he claims to have built on the work of the likes of Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan. His work has been renowned to take teams to the height of their potential as seen with Schalke, Hoffenheim & Leipzig.
TACTICS:
-His preference is a 4-4-2 which functioned as a 4-2-2-2 with his wingers playing narrower.
- He has also used a 4-3-3 and a 3-5-2 which exemplifies his tactical flexibility.
- In essence, his teams aim to play balls into the 2 strikers with an intense press deployed
If the strikers failed to hold possession, in order to win the ball back as quickly as possible.
-This is why he prefers the 2 narrow wingers, in order for them to capitalise and hunt down the ball after losing possession as a pack.
- Quick vertical passing is key to his system.
-Rangnick despises sideways passing as he believes it is a waste of valuable time
-He wanted his side to finish counter-attacks in under ten seconds as this is the time window with the biggest probability of scoring.
- Expect fast, direct & high energy from Rangnick’s teams.
Rangnick loves having control & that’s why he’s also held roles as sporting director most recently head of sport in the Red Bull company. In brief, Rangnick is bold, innovative & his attention to detail is astounding. At Leipzig, he made players take blood tests before training
So he would be able to tell how much his players could train that day. Furthermore, he would regularly test for allergies & ways to maximise his players sleep. It’s even said that he’d also impose rules on which cars players could drive depending on their age.
If Frank was to be sacked, I believe Ralf would be one of the best managers suited to our squad.
- Ralf is an admirer of Werner, Havertz & CHO who he tried to sign at Leipzig.
- Mount, Gilmour, Pulisic, Tammy, Kanté etc would be key to his system though we’d need to sign a DM
I would finish by saying that Ralf might not be the favourite if Frank was to get sacked due to his desire of having a large amount of power and this might not sit well with our board. AC Milan were about to appoint him but the deal fell through for this reason.
