💡 $NNOX - Nano X Imaging( @nanox_vision ) 💡

It is my first lengthy thread on #Fintwit. Feedback, comments, and retweets are highly appreciated! 😊

Let's go! đŸ€
1/ What attracted me as an investor

-Attained a novel 5D X-ray source to lessen overall system costs from millions of dollars to mere thousands while further reducing radiation exposure

-Plans to give the device for free and charge a fee per scan, returning recurring revenueđŸ€Ż
2/ Highlights $NNOX

- Nine years old
- Founder led
- High insider ownership
- Almost Debt-free
- Highly scalable
- Disrupting the medical imaging industry
- Lessens cost by order of magnitude
- Recurring Revenue(mSaas)
- Early stages
- High name partnerships
- Not FDA approved
3/ Founder

Founder and CEO of the company, @poliakine, is an Israeli entrepreneur, inventor, industrial designer.

He founded @powermat and SixAi
4/ Founder

@powermat is a leading developer of wireless power solutions, and Samsung is a strategic investor in it. Most phones with wireless charging are based on their core technology.

The CEO of $LMND, @daschreiber, was the president and board member of @powermat
5/ Founder

SixAI is an AI robotics company that just struck a deal with South Korean semiconductor test solutions giant ISC and tech-focused investment company Yozma Group Korea.

Thus he's not new to the game.
6/ Market

Diseases are most treatable when diagnosed early, but unfortunately, people worldwide still don't have access to technologies like medical imaging, which is vital for diagnosis. The very reason for the lack of adoption is cost.
7/ Market

According to a 2012 report from the Pan-American Health Organization and the WHO, approximately two-thirds of the world population did not have medical imaging access that year.
8/ Market

Many people with access to medical imaging face substantial wait times for scanning. The availability of a lower cost device can substantially expand medical imaging availability and improve the accessibility of early-detection services across the globe.
9/ Market

X-ray technology also underpins CT scans, 3D cross-sectional slicing of the human body, used to analyze things like cancer. They're also used in mammography use, 2D and 3D images of the breast; fluoroscopy; angiograms; and dental imaging.
10/ Funding

Total funding of $114.4M.

- Yozma Group, Israel's leading venture capital firm, and Korean top wireless carrier S.K. Telecom(Verizon of South Korea) holds a combined 18% of $nnox.

- $26M supported by strategic investment from Foxconn(manufactures @Apple iPhone)
11/ Technology

The critical underlying technology was developed by $SNE a little over a decade ago, called field emission display to sell in TVs and monitors. Sony didn't utilize the technology, so they sold it off to another company, and $nnox ended up purchasing it.
12/ Technology

The original x-ray is based on the thermionic effect, a filament that you heat to 2000^C, and because of the need of technicians to cool it down, it's not highly scalable.
13/ Technology

A high-end C.T. scanner can cost $1 million upfront, plus another couple of hundred thousand dollars in software, plus another +$200,000 in just maintenance costs.😯
14/ Technology

$NNOX uses nanotechnology on a semiconductor that is potentially replacing the thermionic X-ray source, allowing them to reduce and eliminate a lot of the costs(Reminds me of @ButterflyNetInc, $LGVW, using ultrasound on a semiconductor).
15/ Technology

$NNOX is analogous to Edison light and LED light. One is done by a mechanism invented by Edison many years ago, through a filament that you heat. The other one is based on the cold process, which is much more efficient, both of them delivering light.
16/ Technology

What $NNOX is doing in radiology is precisely that. @nanox_vision is the LED of X-ray replacing the hot cathode system invented 125 years ago.
17/ The system

The $nnox system comprises of the Nanox.Arc, the X-ray device, and http://Nanox.Cloud , which provides "medical screening as a service", mSaas.
18/ The system

Nanox.Arc comes in at 70 kg versus 2000 kg for the average CT scanner, and production costs are around $10,000 compared to $1-3 million for the CT scanner. đŸ€Ż
19/ The system

http://Nanox.Cloud , a companion cloud-based software, outsourcing the diagnosis to other third parties like Imedis, Brainomics, http://Qure.ai , Cure Metrix whose AI diagnostics will be used on the images and viewed by radiologists around the world.
20/ The system

In addition to being smaller machines with much of the processing of images done in the cloud, the Nanox system can make its images in a tiny fraction of a second, making them significantly safer in radiation exposure than existing methods.
21/ Ownership

High insider ownership
22/ Where is $NNOX currently

- $NNOX is actively in the FDA regulatory approval process.
- $NNOX has contracts to install thousands of these systems in several countries, like Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and Singapore.
23/ Where is $NNOX currently

In the U.S., they signed an agreement to establish a minimum of 3,000 of these devices. Their goal is to have 15,000 of these devices operational within four years.
This is the limit folks. I have much more to talk about $nnox. Post in the comments if you liked the thread and whether you want part 2. Suggestions are welcomed. I do have a position.
