One of the productivity mottos I’m ready to die off is “how you do one thing is how you do everything.”

This is not true and can be extremely disempowering if you’re someone who has to measure energy more carefully than others due to illness, etc.
I think there’s something to be said for evaluating how you show up for different things, rather than just allowing yourself to give 50% without questioning it... but I also think there’s a way to strategically back off on the effort on some things to reroute the energy-
-to things that either have more results or to things that matter more to you.

We don’t need to give 100% all of the time in everything. We shouldn’t expect ourselves to. Letting the dishes sit a day or two to focus on something else can be the right choice.
Similarly, don’t assume that because someone doesn’t show up to their underpaid, exploitative service job with enthusiasm and a smile every day, this means they’re going to do the same as an entrepreneur or as a worker for a company that treats them well. Apples to garden rakes.
This sounds like bragging but it isn’t: I’m known among my friends for my work ethic.

“Edeline gets done in a weekend what I get done in a month or more.”

I don’t do everything with that much effort. Only stuff I care about - and only because I give <=50% for other things.
I literally could NOT get as much done as I do if I was trying to do everything at 100% effort.

But I get a heckuva lot done when I have more energy to spend on the tasks that matter.

Who cares that my bed isn’t made at all times when I’m publishing 10x+ a year? Not me.
