Josh Hawley told me he doesn’t regret objecting to electoral results on day of Capitol riot. “No,” he said. “I was representing my constituents, I did exactly what I said I was going to do. And I gave voice to my constituents and I have condemned mob violence in all its forms.”
Hawley on Dems’ filing ethics complaint against him: “This is the most brazen abuse of the Senate ethics process ... This is an attempt to exact political revenge ... They’ll stop at nothing.”
Asked about how the rioters and rallygoers thought they could change the electoral results, pointing to his and other Republican objections, Hawley claimed: “I was very clear from the beginning that I was never attempting to overturn the election.”
