Please don’t revise the history of who Hank Aaron was to be comfortable. He did not ignore racism. He did not solve racism. He existed despite racism. He fought and pushed back against racism. And many who “love” him today know people who would have spit on him. That’s reality.
You *think* you know how hard it was to do what he did. Deep down you know you don’t. He put his life on the line just to exist. Who knows what his records would’ve been without that extra mountain in his way. Understand that your racism also robs you of your joy. Choose wisely.
