My take on Lampard's reaction to Liam Twomey in his presser:

1. Uncharacteristic, he is clearly under pressure. FL is always very cool, calm and measured in his pressers.

2. Twomey is a very good journalist. Were his pieces hard to read? Incendiary? It's arguable. (1/2)
3. Twomey is the winner here. He can hide behind his position as a journalist and an irrelevance in this scenario. That was naive on Frank's part.

4. Having said all that, if Frank feels hurt, he has every right to express himself and say what he likes.
Frank should know better, though.

You can never win with the media.

He walks away looking the fool and has created an uncomfortable situation for himself in a period when the club could use little more negativity.
In my view, it was naive, unwise and a sign of a man under pressure, a man who is hurting and a man perhaps who doesn't quite know what to do to haul himself and his team out of their current predicament.

People keep harping on about FL the player and the adversity he faced then
...but being a manager is an entirely different ball game.

Even in desperate times, I feel an experienced, world class manager tries to keep a level head.

You can't compare FL to José because José cultivates a media persona to his advantage.

Everything to JM is a game.
This is a big L for Frank, even if I do agree with him and empathise to an extent.

These are dark times and that presser to me is a sign of one of two things for me:

1. The end is near (most likely).

2. A turnaround is inevitable (much less likely).
For out of intense emotions spring reactions, be they positive or negative.

Luton is not the game to look at, unless Frank loses it. That's him gone for sure.

The next Premier League game decides Frank's future.

Win against Wolves and he gets more time, lose and it's curtains.
