Received another update from NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde today. As of today in the Board area 37,000 health care workers, 7,235 care home staff & 11,000 social care staff have been vaccinated. The vaccination programme for over 80s in the community started last week.
This is being delivered by GPs. All practices have received a delivery & officials anticipate enough vaccine will be delivered next week to vaccinate all patients over 80 by 5th February.
Preparations are underway for the next phase, with over 70s beginning to be vaccinated from 1st Feb, subject to supplies. GPs will deliver vaccine to people aged 75-79 and to individuals who are clinically extremely vulnerable.
Those aged 70-74 will start receiving letters from Monday 25 Jan with appointments for community vaccination clinics next month.
Hope this provides a bit of reassurance in light of some of the claims floating about on social media etc.
