So before the Chicago media tries to sell you on the idea that “no one wants to win more than Jerry Reinsdorf” just remember that so far this offseason Rick Hahn has improved the team by adding a top 20 Pitcher in Lynn, the top closer in the game, and Eaton in RF with 28.8 mil.
And now we are hearing reports that they might be capped at a maximum of possibly 8-10 million remaining for the 2021 budget. So Rick Hahn was essentially given around $40 million to work with for 2021. But again, “no one wants to win more than Reinsdorf”
The fact that the White Sox might actually have the chance to win a World Series operating in this manner is truly incredible. Rick Hahn and co are given an impossible task to work with. I’ll be interested to see how the rest of this offseason pans out but I’m not expecting much.
Also quick shoutout to @_blades7 for bringing these numbers to my attention last night.
