Collective failure IMO. Once VVD got injured the club had to act. Joe then followed suit. It only exacerbated the defensive issues. They had 2 months to scout & recruit a player of substance. It ultimately sabotaged the season. They're now paying the price for hubris/complacency.
I think Klopp has made a pigs dinner of this season. The lack of full back rotation, no 4th CB, playing Thiago in a deeper role, Minamino (scored and looked a threat at Palace. Hasn't been seen since), relentless crossing every game ( what's he doing in training).
The squad management has been poor. Jota playing in Denmark. What was Salah doing on the bench last night. We need goals. He's the leagues top scorer. Klopp will come again, but it hasn't been his finest hour
I always go back to Ferguson. Refreshing winning teams. There's an art to it. There's no sentiment. Club comes first. That front line needs looking at.
Liverpool's fully fit first 11 is the best team in the league. The squad is probably Top 5. There's numbers, but a lack of quality. Ox, Origi, Shaq etc. All good, solid pros. Wouldn't make rivals bench.
